A few more awesome matches that were played this year...

1) Kim Clijsters Vs Martina Hingis
2) Paes/Damm Vs Bryan/Bryan (the best ever doubles match I've seen to date I guess)
3) Marcos Baghdatis Vs David Nalbandian

Awesome. Seems that the competition just gets better and better every year. And here's this year's A-Z of the Australian Open.

The really sad bits were the retirements of Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin-Hardenne. And Baghdatis ran out of steam like Safin did when playing Federer.

I think Federer will surpass Sampras if he hasn't already (in terms of overall ability).

January has gone by. Time does fly.

Federer was cool as cucumber, while Baghdatis was all seemingly running out of breath, what with his mouth open and tongue out most of the time.

Federer somehow was unable to remain cool as cucumber while speaking at the "award function". S was telling me "ah, looks like he is going to bawl now..." and he did. Heh! It was so cute that were laughing all the while. Then it was cuter when the Aussie presenter dude offered to thank his coach and his wife on his behalf;-)

Going by the first set and well, the first half of the second, Federer wasn't all that cool :) And then he showed his class and Baghdatis just didn't have enough to keep up with him.

Yeah, the presenter was cool :)

I don't really think so. In fact, I think Federer has way more competetion than Sampras did, in terms of power (which doesn't matter much maybe)...

And Sampras was the Grass dude :)
