ROFL, you deserve it!!!

When coloring in 800,000 pixels on a map of India, Microsoft colored eight of them a different shade of green to represent the disputed Kashmiri territory. The difference in greens meant Kashmir was shown as non-Indian, and the product was promptly banned in India. Microsoft was left to recall all 200,000 copies of the offending Windows 95 operating system software to try and heal the diplomatic wounds.

I'm elated our government screws around when things aren't done the way they have to be :)

That's well known. Anyone who used the original Win 95 would have noticed it. What isn't well known is a bug I found with the timezone handling. India's timezone was way way way off (by 27days). This fact was known to all programs written by microsoft and they compensated for it. It was not known to other programs, and the fake timezone showed through.

I found it while writing a countdown to christmas 97 in Java. It worked fine in IE, but was almost a month off in netscape. Further investigation and a lot of code later uncovered the problem.

I had several classmates verify it and all found the same delta, but only for that specific version of windows 95.
