The new Goodyear GPS2 tubeless radials arrived today and are now happy fitted on the Palio. W00t!!!
New tyres are awesome. It now feels like I have power steering. Turns are smooth and whatnot, the car has a bite :)
While my new tyres were being fitted, another chap drove up in his Zen and I noticed that his nice directional tyres were fitted the wrong way. Crud. Why do you have directional tyres if you a) Don't know what they do and b) Don't know how they're supposed to be fitted!!!! I pointed it out to him and explained for 5 minutes that his tyres were fitted wrong and that he's messing up both tyre and performance. He promised to get them fitted correctly. Duh.

Did a nice thing today by contacting the regional office of Goodyear on JC Road. Although they don't have a retail store there, they were really helpful and also told us that they can get the exact same size (165/80R13) that the Palio needs and that they have the tubeless version as well. So that's like one issue solved. It may take them up to 2 weeks to get the tyres, but now that the exact size is available, I'm fine with waiting :)
A special thanks to johnm for his tyre related advice on IRC and his idea to contact the manufacturers.
And no obz, you're not the only one who finds the Universe much more interesting :)

I need a fresh set of tyres for my Palio. And I need some help from the fellow drivers out there :)
1) Tubeless Radials? Good or Bad?
2) Also, with regards to this, would a non-standard tyre size cause issues (165/80 is the approved one...but you get only 175/70 for tubeless....)
PS : The Wheel and Tyre Bible is awesome!
