If you would shutdown your system everyday, assuming it is not a server, it would save considerable amount of electricity.

btw, that's t3.dotgnu.info. I keep wondering whether I should upgrade the kernel on that one, but keep postponing it - because there's no real easy way to recover it if I screw up boot.
Yeah, that's one reason I postpone kernel upgrades. Sometimes remote machines love to not come back up after a reboot :D
