Unlucky 13

Well, it seems that the 13th of May wasn't exactly the most "luckiest" of days for the BJP....yet another screwed parliament & chances of Sonia becoming the PM (she just doesn't deserve it). Don't the voters have some sense in them???

I'm just hoping the NDA can make up the majority & that some parties will have major issues with having Sonia as the PM.

This is how things shd happen
BJP's over-confidence led to this reversal of trends, but one point to be noted was, where-ever congress has been in power for more than a year - congress has lost, Karnataka, Uttranchal are a few to name.

Now, that BJP has come up with 40 seats short from its last tally, it should sit in the oppostion but i have a better idea (read as radical and insane), they should forego all their 140 seats, get back to their grass roots and slog their ass off for the next 2-4 years and then go for the elections - they wont need the NDA next time to make the government at the center. but this involves an element of risk!

plus, 4 years from now - Vajpayee wont be leading BJP - we require a new face and someone who everyone can trust.

Statistically speaking: i saw this small stat on some site yesterday, titled majority vs minority.

55% indians voted this year. india has roughly 70% hindus and 30% minorities. off the 30% minorities 80% come out and vote. i.e 24% of india votes nearly 20% votes for the "secular" parties and the rest vote for BJP and Others. Out of the remaining 55%, 31% are hindus - who vote which ever way they want - nearly 70% of the 31% vote for BJP, hence 21% rest vote for other parties...

to summarise,
550 million vote, of which 250 million are Minorities and 300 milion are Majorities! need i say more... figures speak for themselves.
More majorities shd vote to see better results

I too disgusted with this joke called Indian elections, to say anything at present. The statistics seem interesting! Can I have the source, please?

last time the 13th Lok Sabha spelt doom for them with a 13 day government.

if these facts are right, then my memory is returning - else all those medications have no effect on my memory retention.

Who are you? who am I?

those are all philisophical questions and not my memory playing games with me.

BTW, hows your project coming along, not Atharva but the sify thing.

I hope these guys gimme employment and send me off to Korea, and i write my Gre and set-off for America - i feel like a foriegner in here (read as India).
