Another Lesson

Its not that I didn't know how to do it...maybe I was just plain lazy. I had everything to make it work, but didn't bother putting that minimum required effort to make it work. Everything in life requires effort. Without effort...nothing happens. Its true with the ladies as well...

I had to get dial-up working on Gentoo. I'd emerged everything that was needed & decided to use wvdial. Had to do a wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf & it automatically picked up my modem & configured it. After that I still had a problem in which pppd would drop the connection after a second. Found out that I didn't have CONFIG_PPP_ASYNC compiled as a module, so once that was done, it worked like a charm :) And all it needed was a wee bit of time & effort.
